Teens and Technology addiction

The abuse of the technology by teens has increased a lot in these years. This is because the technology always is advancing and developing faster and faster every time. The teens are becoming addict to their own devices, because they include all the things they need to satisfy themselves in the entertainment topic.
The things they use most are their cell phones, because now they include internet, so they can visit the social sites without the use of the computer. They can also text with their friends and talk to them wino matter the distances that are separated by. The number of teenagers using the internet has grown 24% in the past four years and 87% of those between the ages of 12 and 17 are online. Compared to four years ago, teens’ use of the internet has grew and increased as they log on more often and do more things when they are online.  They can also play games and watch videos through the internet, so that can keep them entertained for hour and hours. Internet and the technology are now their major sources of entertainment, information, contact and communication. All of that in one single cell phone, computer or tablet.  Before, the email was very used for tens, but now it is losing its popularity because of the instant message system. They prefer it because is faster and easier to ask and answer things, or to simply talk with your friends. With the email is more complicated because you have to send the message and wait for the other person to check it, which might take days or weeks.
The teens are becoming technology-slaves? Is the question many parents are asking right now. The truth is, that if you notice your son is spending too much time in his or her cell phone or computer, don’t prohibit completely all the technological devices, you only have to search for other activities for her or him to do. If you aisle he or she completely of the technology and internet, he or she will loss many communication and socializing of their friends. He will also feel obligated and oppressed, and that will make him to become rebel. You need to let him use the technology and the internet, but if you let him use it excessively, this will become his new life. So, he needs the internet, but he also need to do other things. You need to ask him what does he likes to do, search a hobby for him.

My opinion about this is that I think tat the instructions that this blog gives about the mentioned topic are correct. I think this is the right way to handle the technology use in teens.

  9. I think it is real. We as parents must take care and avoid that our teens spend too much time only with the computer and video games. Lets motivate them to do more sports and share with their friends personally!
